Plans have been submitted to Herefordshire Council for a new 52 bed care home in the city.
The planning application is for a proposed 52-bed care facility at 45 Venns Lane Hereford.
The development is aimed at providing high-quality residential care accommodation for elderly residents, including those with varying levels of mobility and care needs.
According to the applicant (Heritage Manor Ltd):
‘The proposed facility is thoughtfully designed to provide a safe, inclusive, and homely environment, while ensuring the highest standards of accessibility, daylight provision, and staff efficiency.
‘The scheme has been developed in consultation with Hereford council planning and listed building officers through the PreApp system.
‘Taking into consideration the relevant care regulations and best-practice design guidance, including Building Regulations, Nationally Described Space Standards, and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) guidelines.’
Located off Venns lane in close proximity to two listed buildings.
The site provides exceptional views over Hereford to the southwest and is next to Newstead house nursing home operated by Heritage Manor limited.
The site is accessed from St Barnabas close a cul de sac used by other properties.
This road will be in the ownership of Heritage Manor.
The site is adjacent to Newstead House Nursing Home, which is under the same ownership as the proposed development.
The intention is to manage the two properties as a single care operation, allowing for shared staffing and reducing management costs.
In the long term the two properties will be physically linked to further enhance operational efficiency.
