Herefordshire Council Council is seeking to appoint a principle contractor for the construction of active travel improvements on Holme Lacy Road and associated Quiet Routes in line with the referenced designs and associated information in order to achieve the prescribed improvements in active travel infrastructure in the south of Hereford City.
According to documents, there is a deadline of the 28th April for companies to apply.
Herefordshire Council wants to encourage more people to cycle or walk to work at the Hereford Enterprise Zone and when travelling around the area generally.
Improvements to achieve this are proposed for walking and cycling routes in the South Wye area.
These improvements, which will offer a practical alternative to travelling by car for short distance journeys, will include:
Changes to the layout of Holme Lacy Road
Changes to some quieter routes in the South Wye area that make it easier to cycle or walk
