A new SEND (Special Educational Needs) school is set to open in Hereford, after planning permission was approved.

A planning application was submitted for the change of use of Unit 1, Impact House, Coldnose Road, Rotherwas, Hereford, HR2 6JL to a Special Educational Needs (SEND) School.

This has now been approved by Herefordshire Council.

Impact House is a semi-detached commercial building formed by two separate units.

The application site is the southern unit (Unit 1).

The site location and building lends itself for the proposed use having goods access, parking and the building providing appropriate space.

Pathway Schools Limited are a specialist SEND School operator and have been in dialogue with Herefordshire Council about establishing a new SEND School.

Herefordshire Council has a significant shortfall of SEND places (circa 400).

A new SEND school will help Herefordshire Council achieve their core strategic goals.

The SEND School would have maximum of 25 pupils supported by 10 core staff.
