The Wye Valley NHS Trust family is in mourning today as it remembers its Finance Director, Howard Oddy, who died after a short illness.
Howard spent nearly 37 years working in the NHS, 24 of those as a finance director, and the last 14 years at WVT.
After a lifetime of wrestling with NHS finances, he was about to retire when he passed away last month. His funeral takes place at 2pm this afternoon.
Howard’s professionalism, humour, integrity and friendliness shone through all he did. He was kind, considerate and compassionate – everyone who worked with him valued his wisdom and his thoughtfulness.
The Trust benefited significantly from his knowledge, understanding and insight as he steered WVT through many financially difficult years.
We will today stand shoulder to shoulder with Howard’s family to remember a man who used his influence wisely and was astute and knowledgeable, approachable and friendly.
He will be desperately missed by all his WVT colleagues and friends.
