The organisers of Worcester’s Victorian Christmas Fayre have made the difficult decision to cancel this years fayre, due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. The fayre brings thousands of visitors to the city and over £6 million in revenue for the city.

The organisers released a statement saying:

“It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the postponement of this year’s Victorian Christmas Fayre to 2021. This wasn’t a decision anyone wanted to take – but with COVID still at large, the risks incurred were simply too high.

“Instead a range of festive attractions will take place in the city centre across the four December weekends. They’ll include small scale arts and food markets; a Christmas trail for families to follow; acoustic musicians, costumed characters and entertainers.

“Everything will fully adhere to the latest COVID guidance from central government. The Fayre will be back – no doubt better and even more enjoyable after this year off – in 2021!”
