The second patient to receive the approved Pfizer-Biontech COVID-19 jab was an 81-year-old man from Warwickshire called William Shakespeare.
Mr Shakespeare, who prefers to be known as Bill, thanked the staff at his local hospital after receiving the vaccine. He said: ‘I need to say, the staff at this hospital are wonderful.’
With many calling today ‘V-Day’, Mr Shakespeare received the COVID-19 vaccine just minutes after Margaret Keenan became the first person in the world to receive the now approved COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer-Biontech.
Meanwhile Health Secretary Matt Hancock appeared emotional when on Good Morning Britain and he said: ‘It’s been such a tough year for so many people and there’s William Shakespeare putting it simply for everybody that we can get on with our lives’.
