West Midlands Ambulance Service has provided an update on an incident that saw the A49 closed near Craven Arms on Thursday.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service told Your Herefordshire:

“We were called to reports of an RTC involving a car and a lorry on the A49 in Affoct, Church Stretton at 1.01pm and sent an ambulance and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford to the scene.

“On arrival crews found an elderly woman who was treated for potentially serious injuries and conveyed by land ambulance under emergency driving conditions to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.”
