West Mercia Police have provided an update, after officers seized a vehicle in a Herefordshire village.
Police had received a number of messages about a car that had been abandoned in Leintwardine for several months.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police (Leominster Safer Neighbourhood Team) said:
“There has been a community concern over an abandoned vehicle in Leintwardine for several months now, which notices to the registered keeper by the appropriate agencies, had failed to resolve.
“Tuesday, myself and PC Max Beswick seized the abandoned vehicle as the tax had expired at the start of January.
“To note, seizure of vehicles that are not causing an obstruction, is a last resort for police, however when all other avenues have not resolved the issue, we will take necessary action.”
