Welsh Water has issued an important message for thousands of customers living in the Leominster area and surrounding villages.
From Welsh Water:
To make sure we supply customers with a first-class water service for our customers, we’re investing around £5 million to upgrade the water pipes for customers in the Yarpole, Moreton, Eye, Luston and Surrounding areas. This essential work will help to improve the drinking water network in the area and keep your water flowing.
Working with our contractors M Group Ltd, we will be replacing approximately 13.8km of water mains.
This work will help to ensure security of supply to our customers, improve the quality of drinking water and to alleviate issues with loss of supply or low water pressure currently experienced by some customers in the area.
We will be carrying out investigatory work within the highway and private land during the Spring, so you may see us in the local area during this time.
This work will help inform the design of our construction programme, which will get underway by the end of the year.
Whilst we are planning and delivering our work, our water distribution team will continue with their maintenance work in the community to mitigate any problems, and we will maintain our close working relationships with our customers in the area.
