ROGUE TRADING IN BROMYARD

We have had two incidents of rogue trading in the Bromyard area this week where they have targeted elderly and vulnerable people.

Rogue traders will offer to carry out work such as gutter clearing and pressure washing drives for extortionate amounts of money, often without the jobs even being completed. Sometimes they will coerce their victims to go to the bank to withdraw money for the ‘work’. West Mercia Police are now working with Trading Standards officers from Herefordshire Council to tackle these offenders.

Please keep an eye on any elderly or vulnerable people you come into contact with and remind them not to open the door to anyone they don’t recognise. Encourage them to call Police on 101 if they are unsure about any suspicious visitors, or on 999 if they feel scared or threatened in any way.
