The Welsh First Minister Mark Drakeford has announced that the firebreak lockdown in Wales will end on the 9th November, despite a month long lockdown being put in place in England.
First Minister Mark Drakeford says he wants to be “absolutely clear that our firebreak will end on 9 November.”
He adds that Wales has to deal with the impact of the England lockdown because “we share a porous border with England.”
Huge volume of goods and services flow to England and vice versa. When the firebreak ends there will be a new set of national measures. More important is the part in how people respond to the current restrictions, he said.
Two households can join together to form a bubble from 9th November in Wales, Mr Drakeford said.
Beyond 9th November, there will be new arrangements to meet indoors such as pubs and restaurants.
Up to 15 people will be able to meet indoors for an activity and up to 30 outdoors. Schools will also reopen in full.
Travel will not be permitted outside of Wales during England lockdown.
