Emergency services attended an incident in Hereford city centre on Thursday evening.
West Mercia Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service and Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service all attended the incident. Newmarket Street was closed heading eastbound and the A49 reduced to one lane, with reports of a person on the roof of the Debenhams building at Old Market Hereford.
The incident lasted for a couple of hours, before the person eventually came down safely from the roof and is now hopefully getting support.
A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:
“A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Hereford Fire station, along with Hereford’s aerial ladder platform and the Service drone from Ledbury Fire Station, were called to Newmarket Street, Hereford at 19:21 on 9th June to assist police.
“A man in his 20s was threatening to jump from a multi-storey car park and crews stood by to assist if required.
“Ambulance and police also attended and the man was taken into police custody. One lane of Newmarket Street was closed during the incident. The incident was marked as pending closure at 21:34.”
