Two popular Hereford pubs are to close permanently in July.

Yates, located on Commercial Road in Hereford is set to close its doors for the final time in July.

It marks the end of a long era, with Yates opening on Commercial Road in March 2012. It was previously known as the Litten Tree.

It is unknown at present whether any other company will take on the building once Yates closes.

Also set to close is the Starting Gate on Holmer Road. Your Herefordshire understands that the Starting Gate (Beefeater) will close its doors in July, as part of plans from owner Whitbread to restructure the company.

In March it was announced that Whitbread was looking to offload or sell its Beefeater brand, as well as its Brewers Fayre brand.

The company will then switch its focus more to its Premier Inn Hotels.
