A man has suffered potentially serious injuries following an incident at a fish and chip shop in Hereford on Monday evening.

Emergency services were seen at Whitecross Fish Bar on Whitecross Road in Hereford on Monday evening, with the fish and chip shop closed to customers.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:

“Officers were called to an address on Whitecross Road in Hereford at around 5.20pm yesterday (Monday 17 February), following a report of an assault.

“A 44-year-old man was found with injuries and taken to hospital. A 43-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. They remain in police custody.”

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service told Your Herefordshire:

“We were called by the police to reports of an assault on Whitecross Road, Hereford at 5.35pm last night (Monday 17th February).

“One ambulance responded to the scene and treated a man who had sustained potentially serious injuries.

“He was conveyed to hospital for further treatment.”
