Public Health England has confirmed that two more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Herefordshire. The total number of cases in the county now stands at 912 since the outbreak started. The rate of infection per 100,000 population stands at 474.7 which is far below that of areas that have been forced into local lockdowns, such as Leicester where the rate of infection is at 1582.7 per 100,000 population.
However, the rate of infection in Herefordshire is higher than surrounding counties such as Worcestershire, Forest of Dean, Shropshire and Powys.
NHS England confirmed that no further COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded at hospitals in Herefordshire, meaning that the total number of COVID-19 related deaths at hospitals in the county remains at 57 since the outbreak started. The most recent COVID-19 related death at a hospital in the county was on the 15th July.
