Two men have been arrested in connection with a theft occurred at the Old Market in Hereford.
On Monday 20 November officers were informed by security staff using their retail radios, a direct link to the City Policing Team, that two offenders were running down the street away from the shop with stolen goods.
The retail radios link directly with the CCTV control room who were able to track them to a nearby car.
CCTV followed the car leaving the city with officers being deployed to arrest them.
Two men, aged 34 and 42, from the Gloucestershire area were arrested on suspicion of theft from shops. The car was loaded with stolen goods totalling hundreds of pounds from several shops across the county.
PC Ben Miller said: “We take retail crime very seriously in West Mercia and we continue to work closely with retailers and would encourage them to continue reporting all shoplifting offences, and to supply evidence such as CCTV as quickly as possible so that we can take prompt action.”
