The rate of new Coronavirus cases in Herefordshire has fallen significantly over recent days with just two cases recorded since Sunday.

In figures released this afternoon, Public Health England confirmed that 866 positive cases had been recorded in Herefordshire since the outbreak started, up by two since Sunday when the total number of cases was 864.

The news will be welcome to many members of the public who were concerned about a potential increase in cases amongst the general public, after restrictions were relaxed and because of the major outbreak at AS Green & Co Ltd near Malvern, which has seen 120 workers test positive for the virus, the majority of which have already recovered.

Wye Valley NHS Trust released figures last week stating that no patients were being treated for COVID-19 at hospitals in Herefordshire. We await an update in regards to this weeks numbers imminently.

The total number of COVID-19 related deaths at hospitals in Herefordshire remains at 57 since the outbreak started.
