A group of travellers have set up camp at a popular park in Hereford.

The travellers arrived at Aylestone Park in Hereford late on Wednesday evening and at least 15 caravans have been seen parked up.

The group are likely to remain on the site until they are served with a notice requiring them to vacate the land. This will need to be issued by the local authority (Herefordshire Council) and can take several days to be issued.

A spokesperson for Aylestone Park shared the following message on Facebook:

“Unfortunately it would appear that we have uninvited guests staying over in the large car park on the park.

“Should anyone see any malicious damage or destruction of park infrastructure please report it to Balfour Beatty and the police.”
