Rail services between Hereford and Worcester and cancelled this afternoon after a lorry hit a bridge near Hereford.

The incident has occurred on the A465 (Bromyard Road). Emergency services are at the scene and the road is expected to remain closed for some time.

Rail services are expected to be delayed or cancelled for the next few hours with bus replacement services expected to be put on shortly.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Railway said:

“Due to a road vehicle colliding with a bridge between Hereford and Worcester Foregate Street, train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected to last until around 17:15 today (20 December).”
