Yesterday morning (Saturday 24 April) at around 08:00, Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service was called to an incident on the A49 near Hereford, close to the junction with Moreton Road, involving an ambulance en route to a 999 call.
Sadly, despite the efforts of the emergency services in attendance, a West Midlands Ambulance Service technician in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The thoughts of everyone in Hereford and Worcester Fire & Rescue Service are with his family and our colleagues in West Midlands Ambulance Service at this tragic time.
