Traffic lights have been switched off at a busy junction in Hereford.

Union Walk traffic light switch off trial.
As part of a DfT-funded trial, traffic signals at Union Walk near the Country Bus Station have been switched off to test whether traffic flow can be improved.
A new give-way system is now in place, with signals onto Commercial Road remaining active.
This trial supports wider goals linked to future transport funding, including reducing carbon emissions, encouraging active travel and improving public transport
The trial will run for at least two weeks.
Herefordshire Council and DfT will decide whether to keep the changes or return to the previous layout.
