“Ledbury Town Council is extremely saddened to learn that one of the picnic benches located within the children’s play area was totally destroyed by fire last evening.
“This was a malicious and unnecessary attack on facilities that are provided for the Ledbury community – this was a new multi-coloured picnic bench only installed last year for the benefit of children and families who use the play area.
“We are currently reviewing CCTV coverage and any images will be shared with the Police.
“Ledbury Town Council is investing funds into the play area as well as the skatepark and it is a great pity that the minority wish to spoil the area and facilities for the majority within Ledbury.
“Therefore, if you have any information regarding this incident, we would be most grateful if you would please share this the Police.“
