Three men have been remanded in custody to appear at court next month after being charged with drugs possession offences.

Last Thursday (9 June), officers searched a property in the Up Hatherley area of Cheltenham after gathering information about suspected drug dealing.

Searches discovered a kilogram of cocaine which is believed to have an estimated value of around £120,000.

The drugs were seized as part of the investigation and three men were subsequently arrested and charged.

Owen Lonergan, 23 and of Welch Road, was charged with possession with intent to supply a class A drug namely cocaine.

Alex Beard, 25 and of Camellia Court, was charged with possession with intent to supply a class A drug namely cocaine.

Lee Johnson, 34 and of Alstone Lane, was charged with possession with intent to supply a class A drug namely cocaine and possession of criminal property.

All three appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on Friday (10 June).

Beard pleaded guilty and has been remanded in custody to be sentenced at Gloucester Crown Court on Friday 1 July.

Johnson and Lonergan did not give pleas and have been remanded in custody to appear at Gloucester Crown Court on Friday 8 July.
