Thousands of families and film lovers descended on the Odeon Cinema in Hereford on Saturday to celebrate National Cinema Day.
It was a special day, with Odeon selling tickets for a little as £3, which helped to enable families to visit the cinema at a much more affordable price in comparison to normal.
The offer went down a treat, with more than 3,000 people purchasing tickets and enjoying a film throughout the day. Many of those people also treated themselves to food and drink at nearby restaurants, making it a very busy day at the Old Market and in Hereford city centre.
Odeon opened its doors at the Old Market in 2014 and is one of the anchor parts of the Old Market development, following its move from its former home on Commercial Street, in a building that had been desperate for work for several years, with many film lovers choosing a trip to Worcester or Gloucester to visit better facilities. The new Odeon in Hereford has six screens, a fantastic seating area on arrival, with a bar where refreshments can be purchased. It is a much more welcoming place to visit.
“National Cinema Day is an annual celebration of the movies, letting everyone enjoy the thrill of the big screen, regardless of their budget. Taking place this year on 3 September, it’s a deal-packed day when reduced-price cinema tickets are available to all ODEON’s films and screenings – including premium formats like IMAX, Dolby and iSense.”
“On National Cinema Day 2022, we’ve got a great movie lineup to suit everything from family outings to date nights, or a solo cinema experience. You could watch between your fingers as Idris Elba battles a killer lion in Beast. You could laugh at everyone’s favourite yellow villains in Minions: The Rise Of Gru, or revisit your childhood with an IMAX screening of Steven Spielberg’s classic E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.”
