Thousands of people have reported spotting a meteor passing over parts of England and Wales on Monday evening.

The meteor was spotted entering the earths atmosphere before fizzling out, with many people capturing images on cameras such as dash cams.

The Met Office quickly reported sightings of a meteor at around 8pm on Monday evening.

Videos then started circulating across social media, with Angharad Salazar kindly allowing us to share her footage of the meteor.

“To clarify – It was a meteor, not the rocket.

It was spotted UK wide at around 8pm.

The airplane carrying the rocket didn’t take off from Cornwall until 10.05pm, and the rocket was fired at 11.10pm and was over the Irish sea.”

“I saw it, Wigmore not a regular shooting star, much bigger.”
