Herefordshire now has one of the lowest COVID-19 infection rates in England and Wales, with just a handful of counties recording lower infection rates in the seven days ending 5th December.

COVID-19 INFECTION RATES IN THE SEVEN DAYS ENDING 5TH DECEMBER 2020:

HEREFORDSHIRE: 100 new cases (Infection rate of 51.9 cases per 100,000 population)

WORCESTERSHIRE: 508 new cases (Infection rate of 85.3 cases per 100,000 population)

SHROPSHIRE: 207 new cases (Infection rate of 64.1 cases per 100,000 population)

GLOUCESTERSHIRE: 606 new cases (Infection rate of 95.1 cases per 100,000 population)

POWYS: 124 new cases (Infection rate of 93.6 cases per 100,000 population)

MONMOUTHSHIRE: 272 new cases (Infection rate of 287.6 cases per 100,000 population)

The following areas of South Wales ALL have an infection rate of 400 cases per 100,000 population or above:

Newport, Merthyr Tydfil, Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen, Caerphilly, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Bridgend, Neath Port Talbot and Swansea.
