From Westfield Surgery:
We are pleased to announce that The Marches Surgery and Westfield Surgery plan to join forces as a single new practice from April 2022. The partners of the two surgeries have given careful deliberation to this decision and are unanimous in their support of it. The proposal has been approved by Herefordshire and Worcestershire CCG and has their full support.
The merger will, above all, secure the future of primary care services in Leominster, providing resilience for generations to come. It will allow the new practice to make the best possible use of the proposed new premises that are being planned for Leominster and which, it is hoped, will be completed in 2023.
Patients and staff will be consulted to ensure their views contribute to the development of the newly merged practice.
A key priority will be preserving the best of traditional family medicine with continuity of care and access to clinicians who know, and are known by, their patients. This will be combined with new innovative approaches to providing health care and support. In working to prepare for merger the new practice will aim to improve all aspects of its services to the population it serves.
The branch surgery at Bodenham will not be affected and will continue to operate as normal.
