The Imperial Pub in Hereford is closed this evening with a notice on the door confirming that the pub is closed due to staff shortages.
The sign says that staff are self-isolating due to COVID-19 and that the pub will remain closed for the rest of today but at present no further details have been released to let customers know whether the pub will reopen before Christmas.
With COVID-19 cases rising across the country, a number of businesses have reported having large numbers of staff off due to the virus.
At present COVID-19 cases in Herefordshire remain fairly low in comparison to the peak earlier this year, but with the Omicron variant spreading rapidly in some parts of the UK, it’s likely that cases in Herefordshire will rise once again soon.
