Dyfed Powys Police have announced this evening that a special taskforce has been set up to following a significant upturn in reports of suspicious activity, potentially in relation to dog thefts across the county.
Police in Powys are already have a live investigation underway after an incident in Carmarthenshire and neighbouring force Gwent Police are continuing to investigate reports of an attempted dog theft near Monmouth.
Dyfed Powys Police say that a number of arrests have already been made and that 70 puppies and dogs have currently been recovered.
