Herefordshire Ludlow and North Shropshire College (HLNSC) is proud to announce that two members from the Holme Lacy and Walford College staffing cohort have been selected for the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society’s Rural Leadership Programme. Alys Probert an agricultural lecturer at Holme Lacy College and Fflur Roberts, also lecturing in agriculture at Walford College are two of twelve successful candidates who have been selected to complete this programme that is aimed at inspiring future leaders in agriculture. The programme is undertaken over three sessions in which the participants will be involved in training, mentoring, support and guidance, building up to attendance of one of the most prestigious agricultural events in the world, the Commonwealth Agricultural Conference.

Alys has said ‘I feel privileged to have been selected for the programme. I am really looking forward to working with the rest of the candidates and getting involved with the various sessions. This programme is a fantastic opportunity and one that I look forward to feeding back to students at the college’.

Raised on a mixed family farm in Mid Wales, Fflur was awarded the RWAS Student of the Year in 2019 and the Best Overall Agriculture Student at NPTC Group. Fflur has worked in New Zealand, broadening her knowledge of agricultural systems overseas. Fflur looks forward to participating in this programme to network with likeminded individuals, share best practice and improve leadership skills to ensure a strong future within the agriculture industry.

HLNSC would like to extend our congratulations to these two candidates for their fantastic achievement and look forward to following your journeys throughout this amazing experience.
