Speed enforcement checks have been taking place in villages in the south Herefordshire area over recent weeks and officers have told members of the public that speed enforcement checks will continue with it remaining a concern for a number of residents.

Enforcement has taken place in Clehonger, Peterchurch, Dorstone, Cusop and Ewyas Harold so far, with police planning to carry out further speed enforcement at additional locations.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:

“Just thought I’d let you know that this week the team here have had the opportunity to spend time conducting speed enforcement at various locations around the patch.  We’ve been able to visit Clehonger, Peterchurch, Dorstone, Cusop and Ewyas Harold.

“The vast majority of motorists have been travelling within the 30mph limits but a few drivers have been caught exceeding it.

“We’re conscious of the fact that speeding throughout our villages is an ongoing concern for our residents and we intend to continue spending as much time as possible enforcing the law.

“Please spread the word that speeding in the Golden Valley will not be tolerated and that the team here will continue to conduct enforcement measures on a regular basis.

“Thank you to the vast majority of you who drive safely and within the speed limit at any given location.”
