There were four burglaries reported in Forest of Dean last night, Friday 5 November, where unknown offenders entered and searched people’s homes while they were out.
Two incidents took place in the Lydney area, with a further two in Cinderford, and police are appealing for witnesses and information.
Officers are also keen to hear from anyone who lives in the area and may have relevant CCTV or doorbell camera footage in relation to any of the burglaries.
The first incident was reported in Archers Hall Place, Lydney. It is believed the offenders entered through an unlocked conservatory door sometime between 7pm and 8.40pm.
Items stolen include watches and damage was also caused inside. Three people were seen in the area at the time.
Another incident was reported in Lydney in Kimberley Drive, and the break-in is believed to have taken place between 7pm and 9pm.
Unknown offenders forced entry to the premises by smashing a rear patio door. Cash and other items were stolen from the home.
A burglary at an address in Buckshaft Road, Cinderford was also reported to have taken place between 6.20pm and 8.20pm.
Unknown offenders searched upstairs bedrooms and jewellery was stolen. It is not yet known how entry was gained to the property.
Another incident was reported at a property in Denecroft Road in Cinderford. It is believed offenders entered through a rear window at some point prior to 9.30pm and stole items from within.
Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in these areas, has any relevant footage or any information which may assist police is asked to contact officers.
Burglars are often opportunistic and it is believed empty homes may have been targeted while families were out watching firework displays for Bonfire Night.
