“The M50 in Herefordshire is closed westbound between J2 (Hereford) and J3 (Newent) due to a serious collision involving a car which has left the carriageway.

“Emergency services including West Mercia Police are in attendance. National Highways Traffic Officers are also providing assistance with traffic management.”

Diversion Route:

Traffic is being diverted via the hollow triangle diversion symbol:

  • Exit the M50 westbound at J2 and then turn right onto the A417 northbound (Ledbury Road)
  • Continue on the A417 until the roundabout with the A449
  • Take the 1st exit at the roundabout and join the A449 (Leadon Way)
  • Continue on the A449 southbound until the roundabout with the M50 at J4 (Traveller’s Rest)
  • Take the 3rd exit at the roundabout onto A449 to continue onward journey
