Riverside paths in Hereford are blocked this morning as levels on the River Wye continue to rise. Levels on the Wye in Hereford are approaching 4 metres this morning and will continue to rise as we head through today.

Heavy rain has fallen across much of Mid Wales and Herefordshire overnight, with flood alerts issued for the Wye in both Powys and here in Herefordshire. The Environment Agency is expected to provide an update on the current situation at around 9am this morning.

Flood barriers are being put up in Hereford, in anticipation of a peak level of around 5 metres, however with the extent of the rain overnight, it is now believed that this peak may be higher than originally predicted.

Other areas at risk of flooding are the A438 at Letton and other low lying routes.
