Queenswood Country Park & Arboretum release statement saying that the majority of visitors are adhering to government rules but that there have been reports of vandalism.
“Please note that we took the decision to open only the large car park and not the additional woodland car park at this time to help us to keep the number of visitors to the site at a low level.
This is to ensure the park does not become too busy and visitors are easily able to social distance from one another.
Similarly, we have kept the toilets, playground and visitor centre closed as it would be extremely hard to manage these facilities in line with government advice on social distancing.
We do want visitors to feel welcome at Queenswood but it is even more important that people can visit safely.
We are grateful that the vast majority of visitors are complying with government advice when they visit and supporting our work to keep the site safe and tidy.
There have sadly been some minor acts of vandalism. Staff are on site regularly but please do let us know if you see any anti-social or illegal behavior.”
