A popular visitor attraction urges visitors to park responsibly due to concerns over emergency access.
Beechenhurst (Forestry England) — located near Coleford shared the following message on social media:
“Please don’t park like this!
“It’s been extra busy here at Beechenhurst during the Easter holidays. The increase in visitors has meant an increase in vehicles, and we’ve ended up seeing some pretty poor parking along the roads through the site.
“Parking like this isn’t just unsightly, it can stop other visitors, our rangers or emergency services workers getting to where they need to go. It can also damage the verges, which isn’t good for the plants and wildlife that call Beechenhurst home.”
When you visit, please:
- Don’t park on the grass and/or roadside verges
- Keep roads, barriers and gates clear at all times, with enough space for an emergency services vehicle to get through (accidents can happen!)
- Plan ahead and be prepared to park at a different location if our car park is full (Cannop Ponds car park is a great alternative that is just over the road from our site)
