West Mercia Police officers in the Malvern area of Worcestershire are warning people to stay away from a dangerous quarry where people have sadly died in previous years.

A number of people have drowned in the quarry over the years and West Mercia Police are concerned about people being found the wrong side of the perimeter fence.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:

“PCSO Tudge and PCSO Elwell attended Gullet Quarry this afternoon, along with Malvern Hills Trust.

“Two people were found to be the wrong side of the fence and their details were taken.

“We will continue to work in partnership with Malvern Hills Trust.

“For those who are not aware, Gullet Quarry has an extremely cold underwater spring running into it and there is a risk of people dying from cold water shock.

“Stay Safe, Stay Out.”

Increased patrols are expected in the area as the weather gets warmer.
