West Mercia Police officers have been carrying out reassurance patrols near Holmer Primary School in Hereford, following an incident on Tuesday afternoon.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:
“You may have heard about the incident that occurred outside Holmer Primary School yesterday, for which a suspect was arrested. Please see the official reports on the Hereford Police Facebook page.
“We have been at the school today conducting high visibility patrols providing reassurance during both the morning drop off, and afternoon pick up.
“We have been speaking to parents and teachers, and have enjoyed engaging with the children who always have lots of questions for us!
“We will continue to provide reassurance over the next couple of days, so if you see us there, please encourage your children to come and say hello.”

A man has been charged with possessing weapon outside Holmer School in Hereford.
A man has today (Wednesday 15 January) been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of a knife or sharp pointed article in a public place.
The charges relate to an incident on Holmer Road, Hereford yesterday.
He is set to appear at Hereford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 9 April 2025.
