West Mercia Police have stepped up patrols in the College area of Hereford this week after reports that an ‘unknown man’ approached a child in the College Green area of the city on Wednesday evening.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police told Your Herefordshire:
“I can confirm we have received reports of an incident involving a child being approached by an unknown man outside a chip shop in College Green, Hereford shortly before 8pm on Wednesday 8 December.
“Officers are investigating and people may have seen an increased police presence in the area.
“Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area on the Wednesday at that time is asked to call 101 or visit our website, quoting incident 537i of 8 December, 2021 or report it online via our website www.westmerciapolice.uk/tua/tell-us-about/ .”
