West Mercia Police officers are currently searching for The Grinch who nearly stole Christmas after an incident in Herefordshire.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:

“We are appealing to the local community for information following an attempted theft from a business in Wellington.

“The incident is believed to have happened overnight on Monday 13th December 2021.

“The offender or offenders cut through some wire fencing in order to enter the business before cutting down a Christmas tree and attempting to get the 11ft tree back through the fence.

“Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact us online, quoting incident number 140 i 14122021. We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone that might have seen any vehicles in the area.
