West Mercia Police have issued a statement following an incident in Hereford on Friday.
Emergency services were called to reports of an incident on Folly Lane in Hereford on Friday afternoon.
Students were temporarily told to remain in their class.
There were reports of a man walking around the college campus with a bow and arrow.
A man was arrested at Wetherspoons in Hereford.
An update shared by West Mercia Police on Monday (7th October) said:
“The man arrested is now on bail and the investigation is on-going.”

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:
“A man has been arrested this afternoon (Friday 4th October) following a report of him carrying a bow and arrow at Herefordshire and Ludlow College, Folly Lane in Hereford.
“We believe this to be an isolated incident, and officers will remain in the area to offer reassurance to students, staff and the community.”
Hereford Sixth Form College, Herefordshire College have also issued a joint statement:
“Update on the incident on 4/10/24 on Folly Lane from HSFC, HCA and HLNSC.
“On the advice of the police, all three colleges went into lockdown on Friday afternoon as a precaution.
“We would like to thank all staff and students who responded calmly and swiftly.
“We worked with the local authorities and were informed it was safe for students and staff to leave at approximately 4 o’clock.
“The incident has now been fully resolved and all three colleges will be open as usual next week.”
