West Mercia Police officers caught 77 motorists breaking the 30mph speed limit on a busy route in a market town on Monday.
Officers from the Roads Policing Unit targeted the B4361 in Ludlow on Monday following concerns from local residents. Officers recorded 77 motorists breaking the 30mph speed limit in just one hour, with one motorist recording at a speed of 51mph.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:
“Officers from the Roads Policing Unit have been addressing speeding concerns in Ludlow yesterday 8th August 2022 as part of Community Charter.Â
“They were conducting speed enforcement on the B4361 where they captured 77 offending drivers within one hour. The highest reading within this section of 30 mph road was 51 mph! These drivers will now be reported.Â
“West Mercia Police are striving to make our road safer for all to use.”
