Police have made several arrests following suspicious activity in a Herefordshire village in the early hours of Tuesday morning (18th February).
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:
“At approximately 02:50am on 18th February, a member of the public reported seeing a white car, possibly a SEAT, near Withies Road, Withington. It is believed the occupants may have been scoping out high-value vehicles.
“The car remained stationary for a while before slowly pulling away and stopping further down the road. The occupants were seen looking up at a house for 2–3 minutes before driving off after realising they were being watched.
“Further police work later identified the same vehicle travelling northbound on the M5, where officers followed it and carried out a TPAC stop.
“The occupants were detained, and a search of the vehicle uncovered a crowbar, balaclavas, and multiple mobile phones, all of which were seized.
“Four individuals, aged between 16 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of going equipped.
“There has been a rise in burglaries across Herefordshire, and we appreciate reports like this from the public. If something doesn’t seem right, please let us know—we’re always happy to check it out.”
