West Mercia Police have launched an investigation after a car was left abandoned overnight following a collision.

At 3.50am this morning emergency services were called to a car fire at Kyrewood, Tenbury Wells. One car had been involved in a collision with a tree and surrounding fencing and was well alight.

The vehicle had been abandoned. Fire crews used two hosereels and one breathing apparatus wearer. The fire service drone from Ledbury was requested to assist with a search for the occupant who may have been injured in the collision.

Further information was later received from the police who were investigating, so the drone was not required, however police, fire, ambulance and the fire service drone attended.
