Police are investigating after a dog was shot on a farm in Mid Wales.

The incident occurred in the Builth Wells area of Mid Wales and Dyfed-Powys Police say they are incredibly disturbed by the incident.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said:

“We are investigating a very disturbing incident of a Border Collie dog being shot, whilst in the area of his home address farm, overnight between 16th-17th Feb, near the vicinity of Banc y Celyn hill, on the outskirts of Gwenddwr, Builth Wells. 

“Unfortunately, the dog sustained serious injuries, whereby he has lost the sight of one eye and gunshot has been removed from his head. 

“We are treating this seriously. Are you aware of anyone shooting in the area?
