West Mercia Police officers have explained why there has been an increased police presence in parts of Leominster today.

Officers were seen in the Sandpits area of the market town around midday today. 

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:

“Some of our residents in the PUMP PIECE/SANDPITS AREA of LEOMINSTER may have seen an increase in police presence today around the midday time frame.

“I would like to reassure you that officers from Hereford CID and Leominster Patrol officer’s were involved in an operation in the area, where 3 arrests have been made in connection with a drugs investigation. 

“Inquiries are still ongoing as is the investigation but if you have any further concerns, information that you feel would help the police, please call in on 101, quoting incident 00244_I_03072023.”
