Police have received reports of underage drinking in Ross-on-wye town centre.

From West Mercia Police:

Police have received reports of underage drinking in Ross-on-wye town centre.

This is mainly occurring on weekends around the Rope Walk area, which is also a non drinking zone.

This is concerning, not only in regard to their age however, the health risks and anti-social behaviour it brings.

Questions you need to ask yourself as a parent or guardian:

1) Do you know where your children are on weekends?

2) Do they have access to alcohol?

3) Do they have money to purchase alcohol?

Police patrols will be stepped up around the Rope Walk area. Any children found to be drinking or have possession of alcohol will have it confiscated, and they will be taken home. The same applies to any child found to be acting anti-sociably.
