A planning application has been submitted to Herefordshire Council, to build an extension to the current Skate Park on Holmer Road in Hereford.

Following a successful tender process in 2022, Betongpark were appointed to work alongside Wheeled Sports for Hereford to design and build an extension to the existing concrete skatepark off Holmer Road, Hereford.

Subject to positive approval, construction will begin in August 2023 and be completed by December 2023.

The proposed development is for a 900m2 extension to the existing skatepark located on Holmer Road.

The proposed design features additional concrete ramp sand flat slabs. Existing on-site parking will be retained.

Hereford Skatepark is situated on Holmer Road, with Halo Golf Course to the West, various industrial units to the East, and Halo Leisure Centre to the South.

The skatepark was originally built ni 2006 and has had various extensions in the years since. It is a highly valued community asset.

In the interest of neighbouring residents and businesses, if the application is approved, site working hours will conform to the following hours:

• Monday to Friday – 7.00am to 6.00pm;

• Saturday – 7.00am to 1.00pm;

• Sunday and Public Holidays – no noisy working audible at the site boundary

Funding for this project has come from Stronger Hereford, following the cities successful application for Government funding for a number of projects across the city.

‘Offering a positive, social space and supportive community, Hereford skatepark is also one of the UK’s most successful free outdoor facilities. The expansion will upgrade facilities and enable the skatepark to welcome more users.’
