The Government has announced that new tier 2 restrictions will come into place in one part of Shropshire to stop the spread of COVID-19.
The announcement made today will see Telford and Wrekin enter Tier 2 restrictions following a significant rise in infections rates in the area over recent weeks.
From Saturday 31 October 2020 at 00:01hrs residents of Telford and Wrekin:
- must not socialise with anybody outside your household or your care or support bubble in any indoor setting, whether at home or in public
- if you socialise in a group outside it must not be in a group of more than six, this includes in a garden or park
- work from home if possible
- reduce the number of journeys.
Areas to move to Tier 2 from 12.01am on Saturday
- Yorkshire and the Humber: East Riding of Yorkshire, Kingston-Upon-Hull, North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire
- West Midlands: Dudley, Staffordshire, Telford and the Wrekin
- East Midlands: Amber Valley, Bolsover, Derbyshire Dales, Derby City, South Derbyshire, the whole of High Peak; Charnwood
- East of England: Luton
- South East: Oxford City
