Shoppers in Hereford will be able to park for free in Herefordshire Council car parks in the city centre from 4pm on Wednesday 7th December, Wednesday 14th December and Wednesday 21st December.
‘An incredible line up’ of street entertainment and live music is planned this December by the Hereford Business Improvement District (Hereford BID) as part of their remit to attract visitors to the city and celebrate the festive season.
Mike Truelove, CEO for the Hereford BID said “this Christmas is absolutely crucial for retailers and hospitality who need every bit of custom possible; we have created a serious wow-factor line up of events that offers festive fun and atmosphere during a visit to the city and people looking to experience Christmas will not want to miss this”.
With a welcome contribution from Hereford City Council to the cost of the Hereford BID’s Christmas plans, there will be much to see and do including a family-friendly Nutcracker Trail, live music in High Town, and Hereford Gift Card Giveaways.
The entertainment kicks off on the first Late Night Shopping Wednesday with live music from 3:45pm. On 14th December, Live Music from John Cutler and Band, as well as Band For Hire, will be complemented by street performances from Christmas Elves with their Good-o-metres and the Elvish Pressies. The incredible entertainment continues with Hereford BID’s Christmas Extravaganza, on 17-18thDecember, with live music from 10:00am and walkabout performers across the city from midday. P
The family-friendly Nutcracker Trail will be available to complete from 22nd November when giant nutcracker statues will take up residence at key locations around the city centre. Trail maps will be included in a county-wide Christmas mail out and will also be available from Hereford Tourist Information Centre.
Representing over 500 member businesses, Hereford BID’s events are designed to drive footfall in the winter months and encourage local spending. They hope that the variety of entertainment, combined with the free parking and great offerings from city centre businesses will entice visitors from across the county to spend time in Hereford.
